Community Standards

Welcome to Wazzamba, Traveler! We hope you will have a fun and rewarding experience.

To further our goal to provide a non-threatening, safe environment to play in, we have established this Code of Conduct and Community Standard policy. Our Community Standards are very simple: Treat each other with respect and without harassment. We aim to support the Travelers enjoying their time with us and provide them with the best in-world experience possible.

These standards are applied and enforced within all areas of our community in the Wazzamba world, on our discussion forums and while you are dealing with our staff members.

In any form of communication, perception is a very powerful interpretive tool. Please be aware of what you say and how you say it. Something said that may seem harmless or fun-worthy for one group of individuals may be highly offensive to others. Think before you say something! A good rule of thumb to use: Would a reasonable and responsible person consider what I am posting to be inappropriate?

Behaviors that will not be tolerated are:

Intolerance
As defined by any individual that marginalizes, belittles, or defames another Traveler or groups in game or out. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another Traveler's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is not allowed.

Harassment
Harassment can take many forms. Communicating or behaving in a manner, which is offensively coarse, intimidating or threatening, constitutes unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors, or is otherwise likely to cause annoyance or alarm is defined as Harassment.

Inappropriate Usernames
Usernames must not be in violation of this Code of Conduct. Accounts whose associated usernames are in violation of this Code of Conduct, or are otherwise deemed inappropriate and/or potentially offensive, will be terminated. Members may be invited to register under a new name at our discretion.

Attacking the Person Instead of the Argument
Ad Hominem comments or personal attacks towards anyone - staff, forum member or a visitor who is likely to view it on the forums - is subject to the message being deleted and action taken against the user, regardless of how pertinent or thoughtful the rest of the message might be.

Disclosure/Privacy:
Travelers are entitled to a fair and reasonable amount of privacy with regard to their Wazzamba experience. Sharing any personal information about a fellow Traveler without their consent - including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, and real-world location –is a Privacy violation. In order to avoid these concerns, we would advise you not to disclose any information you deem private and would not want shared. It is ultimately your responsibility to protect your privacy. Please take this seriously. We strongly urge you not to share personal details unless you are willing to have that information become public knowledge.

Unauthorized Access/Forum Security
These actions are strictly prohibited:
 • Accessing, or attempting to access, the accounts of other users;
 • Exploiting, or attempting to exploit, bugs, vulnerabilities, or loopholes whether they are disclosed or undisclosed;
 • Penetrating, or attempting to penetrate, security measures of Wazzamba's software or hardware, or electronic communications system.
All attempted intrusions will be subject to immediate termination of in-world and community accounts, regardless of whether or not the attempt results in the corruption, loss, or theft of data. Please see the Terms of Service for further information.

Attempting to Impersonate Others
Attempting to impersonate any person, including staff members, using forged headers, instant messenger names, similar usernames (i.e. “AngelaP”, Angela P”, “AngP”, “Angel AP”) in an effort to deceive or mislead is prohibited and could lead to your account being banished.

Travelers are responsible for the security of their Wazzamba in-world and community accounts. We do not allow the sharing of accounts between Travelers. Sharing your account information (login and password credentials) is grounds for immediate expulsion from Wazzamba.

However, users who decide to share their account information with a third party, do so at their own risk. Account holders are responsible for all activity that happens on their account.

Disturbing the Peace
Every Traveler has the right to play, explore and meet other Travelers in a safe and pleasant environment. Disrupting other Travelers through repeated transmission of undesired advertising content, spamming and any other type of behavior that may reasonably be determined by us to adversely affect other Travelers’ experience, is not allowed.

Porn/Sexually Offensive Materials
Do not post or link to pornography or sexually offensive materials. If you are unsure whether what you wish to post may be in violation of this rule, please consult a moderator first before posting in the forum or contact customer services if you wish to add this information in your in world profile.

Offensive Images / Shock Sites
You may not post or link to shock sites, or any such excessively obscene material. If you are unsure whether what you wish to post may be in violation of this rule, please consult a moderator first before posting. Blatant violations of this rule will result in a permanent ban on your account on the forum as well as banishment in world.

Note: No full or partial nudity (topless) photos will be allowed in the forums. These will be deleted.

Profanities
You may not use profanity or bypass the software-based word filters. In addition to words included in the filter, sexual remarks and slang may be considered profane when used in certain contexts.

What is considered to be bypassing the software-based word filter? Anything done to avoid the default *'s provided by the filter is considered to be a bypass of the filter. For example, if the word “bubblegum” was in the filter (it is not), then all of the following are considered a bypass of the filter and thus in violation of the CoC:

 • B***** G**
 • bubb1e, bubbl&
 • bubblë
 • b u b b l e g u m
 • Bubble Gumm
 • B<!-- b -->ubbleGum
 • <img src="http://www.example.com/93QrsteaV/bubblegum.gif"> (links to image containing the word “bubblegum” used in a demeaning context)

Spamming
You may not spam chat in any local Wazzamba landmarks in world by promoting and advertising any external activities.

No part of the forum allows Spam. Spam will be deleted. Repeated offense by spamming will result in the deletion of your account. Spam includes, but is not limited to, the following:

 • Excessive off-topic threads
 • Posting nonsensical messages
 •  “Flooding” the forum with similar meaning messages
 • Post-Count farming
 • Outwar-style links
 • Blatant advertising
 • Messages without content
 • Fraudulent activity (Pyramid schemes, chain letters, etc.)
 • Free-____ links (i.e. Free iPods, Free PSP, etc. etc.)

Advertising
We do not allow spam generated by promotion teams, public-relations campaigns or other traffic-hungry webmasters. So please note that our world and community forum aren’t the place to advertise your own site or forums or sites unless you specifically have our written permission. If you are part of a gaming site and you want to link it as a relevant part of a discussion, please contact a moderator first and be honest if it’s your own site.

Global Standards
All areas of Wazzamba, including the www.wazzamba.com website and the Community Forum, adhere to the same Terms of Service, Code of Conduct and Community Standards.

Unauthorized Use
It is strictly forbidden to use the forum and our in-world community for unauthorized or unlawful purposes, in support of such activities, or to encourage conduct that would constitute a breach of the Terms of Service (ToS), this Code of Conduct or any applicable law. Such activities may result in a permanent banishment of the Wazzamba account and all accounts linked to the person registered to the account. Please see the Wazzamba Terms of Service for more information.

Email Addresses
You are required to keep your forum and Wazzamba account email address up-to-date. If you win a Prize, you will be notified of it by email; if we don’t have your actual email address and cannot contact you, we may award the prize to another player.

If a warning or other notification sent to the email address on record bounces or we are notified that it is undeliverable, your account may be banned and you will have to contact us to have your account unbanned.

Warning, Suspending, and Banning Accounts
Wazzamba is a fun society. Travelers should interact in peace and with respect for each other. While we reserve the right to suspend or ban any Forum or Wazzamba account at any time, we also realize that sometimes emotions can get away from us during the heat of the moment and people may post statements that they would not otherwise post. To take this into account, violations of the ToS or Community Standards may follow a ‘three strikes and you’re out” process:
 • Email Warning: Any violation of the ToS or this Code of Conduct and Community Standards may result in email warning, requesting that you refrain from any violations of the ToS and Code of Conduct and Community Standards in the future;
 • Account Suspension: Any further violation of the ToS or this Code of Conduct and Community Standards may result in the suspension for one (1) or more days of your Forum privileges, Wazzamba playing privileges or both;
 • Banned from the Wazzamba World and/or the Forums: A third violation of the ToS or this Code of Conduct and Community Standards may result in a permanent ban of your Forum account, Wazzamba account or both.
Bear in mind to treat others the way you would want to be treated and that should give you a sense of acceptable behavior.

Alternate Accounts
Travelers who may choose to play in the Wazzamba world with more than one accounts need to understand that it is not acceptable to specifically or consistently use multiple accounts to harass other Travelers or violate our Community Standards. Misuse of alternate accounts may result in action on the principal account and all alternate accounts.
